If you’ve been searching around the web for adoption resources or just googling “give baby up for adoption,” you’ve probably come across a lot of different websites. You’ve also probably read a lot of different points of view. But are you really getting the questions you have answered? Let’s see if we can help.
One common question we get from birth parents is, “I’ve already had my baby and taken them home. Can I still give my baby up for adoption?”
First of all, you’re not alone. We’ve worked with dozens of women who have chosen adoption after birth for a variety of reasons, whether that be because the father left or because they didn’t fully know all of their options. Regardless of what your reasoning is, it’s not too late.
Post-birth adoptions are just like newborn adoptions. You are able to pick the right family for your child and you can meet with them as soon as you’d like. You can also still choose how you would like the adoption and the transition to proceed. We can also make sure you receive the same counseling as other birth mothers, and you may be eligible for medical care and assistance with living expenses.
If you’re struggling or if you truly feel that you just can’t parent, call or text us (850) 308-1836. Madonna and her team are here 24/7 to talk with you and help you understand all of your options.
