Recent Message To Our Law Firm: “I need to find a family to adopt my baby. Can you or one of the other adoption agencies in Florida help me find the right one?”
We wanted to highlight this message today because this is actually a really common question. Even though we are a law firm, The Adoption Law Offices of Madonna M. Finney can certainly help you “find a family to adopt my baby.”
“How Does Choosing The Adoptive Family Work?”
When an expectant mother decides to make an adoption plan with us, we guide her step-by-step through the adoption process. We work with her to determine what she imagines for her baby’s future, including what type of family she wants for her baby. Some example questions we encourage expectant mothers to ask themselves include:
- Do I want a married couple to adopt my baby or would I be okay with a single parent?
- Do I want my child to have siblings? How many?
- Does race or religion matter to me?
- How do I feel about choosing an LGBTQ+ family to raise my baby?
Once we have an idea of the type of family that an expectant mother desires, we show her electronic adoption profiles of families that meet her criteria. If none of them feel like a match, we’ll go back to the drawing board. In the end, YOU get to select the family. YOU get to speak with them and meet them if you’d like, so that you may feel assured they are the right family for your child.
“How Do I Know The Family I Choose to Adopt My Baby is Safe?”
EVERY family presented to an expectant mother has gone through the rigorous home study process and is approved for adoption. As part of the home study process, the family’s criminal and child abuse histories will be checked. Their home will also be inspected to ensure that it is safe and appropriate for children. Each family member will even go through a medical check up, have their references reviewed and attend adoption education courses.
“How Do I Start The Adoption Process?”
If you are looking for a family to “adopt my baby,” then we imagine you’re probably under a lot of stress. You have some big decisions ahead of you. If would like to discuss Florida adoption or would just like someone to speak to about what’s going on in your life, we’d be happy to talk with you. There is no charge and no obligation on your part to make an adoption plan. We’ll simply just talk things over and get to know you a little better. We can also discuss what sort of financial assistance is available to expectant mothers who chose adoption, as well as medical care and counseling.
Ensuring that children are placed with the right families, who can meet their needs and give them the best life possible, is one of the best parts of our job at The Adoption Law Offices of Madonna M. Finney. We’re here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days. You can reach us via talk or text at (850) 318-1836 or message us on Facebook.
