We provide pregnancy options counseling, and for women who decide adoption is the right option for them, we provide support at every stage of the adoption process. We are a licensed Florida-based adoption law firm providing adoption services to birth mothers for more than 20 years.
Counseling
Our caring and skilled adoption professionals will talk with you and provide information to help you decide the best option for you and your child. Talking to us about your unplanned pregnancy options and adoption does not obligate you to give your child up for adoption.
Open, Semi-Open, or Closed Adoptions
When facing an unplanned pregnancy, you can choose the type of adoption that works best for you. There are three main types of adoptions:
Open Adoption
In an open adoption, you and the adoptive family exchange information and have the opportunity to remain in direct contact. An open adoption doesn’t mean one thing. To start, you can select the family to adopt your child. You can elect to meet them in person and have them at the hospital, if you would like. Typically, openness refers to the ongoing contact between adoptive and birth families. Some families visit occasionally, some keep in touch with emails and texts and some regularly speak on the phone and have video contact.
Semi-Open Adoption
A semi-open adoption can allow for some contact and communication but may not involve such a close relationship.
Closed Adoption
In a closed adoption, there is no contact between the birth mother and the adoptive family after the placement. You can still have the opportunity to pick the family to adopt your child, if you decide adoption is right for you and your child.
